Man has been fascinated ever since he started producing art. Man has been able to produce quality work with the use of tools such as paint brushes or pencils. The two categories of professionals named above on the topic do similar tasks as their jobs are about drawing. The distinguishing factor is on the material used as an output. This article basically elucidates on how Artists and Illustrators are valuable in the production of Animation Films.

As stated earlier, the main difference between the outputs of the two professionals is the material that portrays their work. Illustrations involve the use of comic books, magazines or visual advertising media. On the other hand, production of art involves the use of canvas material to showcase their work. Alternatively, producing illustration consists of a variety of activities such as demonstration, creation and practice of their original work.

Both art and illustrations are vital when producing animation films. Firstly, an artist is responsible for creation of characters that are the backbone of any animation film. Alternatively, it is their mandate to create various specific features about their character such as height and facial features. Meanwhile, an illustrator has a duty of utilizing the drawn character in relation to the plot of the narrative. This will make it much easier for the audience to understand the subject matter of the animation film.

Alternatively, production of art not only involves creation of fictional characters, but also the provision of scenery that acts as a setting for the animation film. Illustration then involves use of determine various emotions that the characters are meant to portray when filming the animation. Illustrations will involve portrayal of emotions such as happiness, sadness or anger depending with the plot of the animation film. Portrayal of emotions is vital as they inform the audience of how these characters are feeling during a particular time. This creates a bond within the audience as they empathize with what the character is experiencing.

Production of illustrations is the basis on which sounds or voices are utilized by these characters. For instance, male characters are depicted to have deeper voices while female characters are portrayed to have softer voices to emphasize their female traits. Illustrations also involve coming up with sounds to reveal the state of affairs during certain scenes. For example, it is necessary to play a happy tune when characters are in a happy mood. When there is a sad scene, then it is necessary to play a sad tune to indicate an atmosphere filled with sorrow.

Artists are responsible for capturing every aspect relating to a character within the film. Objects being used by the characters should also be captured as they probably play a role along the storyline of the narrative. For instance various objects held or worn should be captured as they narrate unique qualities about the specific character.

It is important that directors are notified during production phase concerning the movement of characters as per the illustrations. If the characters are performing specific acts such as running, then they should be captured so as not to contradict with the original story.

In conclusion, it is fundamentally clear that artists as well as illustrators play a crucial role when producing animated films. They serve as the foundation on which a narrative is told. Without their input, then the animation is as good as dead.
