This activity is mainly performed in large water bodies like ocean, seas and even in lakes. In the olden days, participants took part in paddleboarding as they tried to move from one island to another. Any normal person will feel unsafe and uncomfortable while going out for paddleboarding when it is raining cuts and dogs. Under such condition, your body and clothes are likely to become extremely wet. Handling the paddle will be challenging in case, hands are wet. Fog, precipitation and lightening tend to have negative impact on visibility of an individual.

Tides and currents will really distract you especially if they are moving in varying directions. They may make you to apply a lot of force without a good reason. You may not be able to navigate past an area, which is rocky during low tide. Check the nature of tides and currents before you commence paddling.
