The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels is one of those breeds that people are in love with. It is becoming one of the popular breeds because of their beautiful and big eyes.

The good news is that Cavaliers love to be surrounded by humans and hate it when they are left alone for longer periods of time. Moreover, they make good companions for people who like to walk with them every day and prepare a yard for them to run and chase. Their temperament, energy levels, and trainability make them a perfect option for animal lovers.

Cavaliers are usually called as sporting breed toys because of the combination of toy and spaniel traits. Although they are sweet tempered and love cuddling, but they have more athletic instincts than you might expect. Indeed, they can be a good chaser and runner. A gated yard is important because Cavaliers will surely pursue chipmunks and even butterflies.

Like other dog breeds, Spaniels also need a regular exercise. Of course, they need it for their health. On the other hand, these breeds are also people oriented. They usually get frustrated when left alone, this, having a companionship, either humans or pets is highly recommended. When left alone, they tend to bark all the time and even chew your sofa bed or soft pillows destructively.

Fortunately, Cavaliers can get along with other animals and even humans. But like other animals, they tend to have timidity, therefore, puppies need to be socialized at early ages to boost their confidence and outgoing temperament. So, if you really want their traits, then it is right for you.

However, if you do not want puppies with separation anxiety, timidity, shyness, orb lots of shedding, then never attempt to own one. Typically, you can avoid or even minimize some negative features of dogs by selecting the right breeder and a good puppy. If you prefer to acquire one from an animal shelter, it would be best to select an adult dog that does not dominate negative traits at all.

It is also important to give him a proper training so he would respect you. One of the biggest problems with spaniels today is health. The three common health problems include valve degeneration which eventually leads to heart failure, skin allergies, ear infections, all of which are eligible for insurance benefits.

If one is looking for a perfect companion in the canine community, you may consider the Spaniels. Since Cavaliers are easy to train, raising one should not prove to be a difficult challenge to manage. Basically, setting a basic expectation and boundary for your pup is recommended.
